Recycled Engineering Compound

REC Compounds (Recycled Engineering Compounds) represent an innovative and sustainable solution in the field of plastic materials. These compounds contain between 30% and 70% post-industrial recycled material (PIR – Post Industrial Recycling), helping to reduce environmental impact without compromising technical performance. All REC Compounds comply with the ISO 14021/2016 environmental standard, and the most commonly used ones have been validated by the TUV certification body.

Within our range, REC Compounds are divided into three main families, each designed to meet specific application requirements.

LCA study: the environmental impact of REC compounds

Novalca has measured the Carbon Footprint of its REC compounds through an LCA study conducted by an accredited body in accordance with ISO 14067:2018. The results confirm that using post-industrial recycled raw material significantly reduces CO2 emissions compared to virgin polymers, with the same performance.
